Building Momentum Bikepacking Workshop

Over the years, I’ve heard from countless women and non-binary folks who want to get into bikepacking, but don’t know where to start. Many worry about not being the fastest or having the best gear. While much of the conversation in this space celebrates record-setters, there’s little support for those simply looking to learn the basics.

That’s why I created Building Momentum; a bikepacking workshop designed to lower the barriers for women and non-binary people to get started. Taking place in Nelson, BC, from May–June 2025, this four-week series will cover essential skills such as bike mechanics, gear setup, backcountry period care, pelvic health, route planning, and responsible recreation. Each session will be led by local women experts. The series will culminate in an overnight ride of the Frog Peak Loop, which I designed for BIKEPACKING.com in 2024.

Please share this with anyone you feel might benefit. Additionally, if anyone in my network has advice or things to offer, I’d love to hear from you. I’ve been amazed by the wonderful support I’m gaining from the community. Gericks, Kootenay Wild Mentors, 7Mesh, Hammer Nutrition, and Kona, to name a few!

I am so grateful to be part of the bikepacking community and excited to help create a more inclusive and supportive space through this workshop and beyond.
